Owen's second Halloween was quite different from his first.
We dressed Owen up as a lion and figured we'd spend the evening on the front porch, handing out candy and toys to the neighborhood kids. What we didn't realize was how much Owen would want to be part of the action. He'd see the kids on the street and hear all the crazy noises and would beg to explore himself.
So we ended up taking Owen out to about four or five houses in the immediate area. One house was giving out the helium balloons that adorned their front lawn. Another house featured screams from a stereo and a man in a Jason hockey mask sitting menacingly on the front steps. Owen stared at the man for a minute, then decided to run up to him. (Note to self: Halloween is not a good day to teach common sense.) He spent 30 seconds digging in the candy bowl for a red candy. Since he had no idea what was actually in the wrappers, he just picked the most colorful one...
We saw some great costumes and had a lot of fun, but next Halloween is going to be extra fun!
